Turfgrass Evaluation Program Variety Trials

These variety trials are part of a national program where turfgrass varieties of all types are evaluated under a wide range of environments and management practices. These are important to Utah citizens as they provide information on what varieties are best suited to our environment. These evaluations also benefit seed companies that use this data to more effectively identify what varieties are doing better here and how to improve their breeding efforts for cool-arid environments. We currently have evaluations of Kentucky bluegrass, Tall fescue, Fine fescue (shade), Perennial ryegrass (golf course fairway conditions), and Creeping bentgrass (putting green conditions).
