HorticultureWelcome to the Utah State University Horticulture Homepage. The horticulture section of the department of Plants, Soils, and Biometeorology encompasses research, teaching, and extension activities in three horticultural areas: fruit, vegetables, and landscape horticulture (ornamentals and turf).
We serve a large number of undergraduate students, and a growing number of graduate students, with educational opportunities in traditional horticulture as well the evolving area of landscape water conservation.
The horticultural research projects are just as diverse, covering the range from carbohydrate allocation in asparagus to gene flow in bluegrass, to quantifying over irrigation at the urban:rural fringe. Our extension programs serve a wide range of clientele, from fruit and vegetable growers to water districts to golf course managers. Take a look and see what we have to offer.
