Insects are a fairly recent
problem in turf
• Because of the chemicals used … not
because of the insects.
• Old insecticides like chlorinated chlordane,
dieldrin, heptachlor, etc. had long residuals
and broad spectrum control.
• Current products have short
residual and narrower
spectrum.
