Description
This native perennial can reach heights of 80 cm tall in some areas! Small, linear to oblong leaves cover the stems. The flowers are borne in cymose clusters, colors ranging from pale blue to white. The flowers are only a maximum of 23mm long.

Range
Found in all counties in Utah. Ranges from Canada to Mexico. Elevation: to 9,000ft.

Culture
Can grow in a wide range of conditions, from well-drained to clay-type soils. Zones 2 - 8.

Value
Blue flax is an outstanding perennial, as the sky blue flowers that crowing the 1-2 stems covered with very fine-textured foliage that is a landscape asset after the bloom. Common in the trade.

Propagation
Starts easily from seed. Sow in desired location or in a container to transplant when well rooted. Cover to depth.
